Turkey Burgers in Pita with Cucumber Sauce

INGREDIENTS

INSTRUCTIONS

1 lb. ground turkey or lamb

2/3 cup bread crumbs

2 Tbsp. white wine or water

1 Tbsp. chopped fresh dill or 1 tsp. dried dill weed

1 Tbsp. chopped fresh mint or 1 tsp. dried mint

1 Tbsp. chopped fresh parsley or 1 tsp. dried

1/2 tsp. salt and 1/4 tsp. black pepper

Sauce1/2 cup plain low fat yogurt

1/2 cup diced cucumber, peeled and seeded

1/2 tsp. ground cumin

Salt to taste

  1. Combine all ingredients for burgers and shape into four patties, about 3/4 inch thick. Grill until browned and cooked through, about 5 minutes per side.
  2. Combine sauce ingredients in a bowl and season with salt.
  3. Serve burger in pita bread or English muffin with fresh tomato slice and cucumber sauce.

Serve with rice salad.
